The foundations I use to think through a problem.
Hi, I'm Dilashma — Software Engineering
I build full-stack web and mobile applications. I've built a restaurant platform with React, Node.js and PostgreSQL, an Android app in Kotlin, and data projects in R.
01 About me
I'm Dilashma, and I enjoy taking an idea from a blank file to something people can click, use, and hopefully enjoy.
My foundation started with Java and Python — object-oriented programming, data structures, and problem solving. Since then I've moved into full-stack development: I built DigitalMenu with a React front end, a Node.js and PostgreSQL backend, and a Kotlin Android app. I've also worked with R on real public datasets, cleaning and joining data to find patterns and build a simple recommendation model.
I care about clean structure, interfaces that feel obvious, and code that another person can read. Right now I'm sharpening my backend and mobile skills, practising data structures and algorithms, and looking for an internship where I can learn from a team that ships real products.
Currently building DigitalMenu — the next iteration.
02 Skills
The languages, frameworks, and tools I reach for most. I'm deliberately curious about the layer below the one I'm working in — that's usually where the real learning is.
The foundations I use to think through a problem.
Interfaces that stay simple as they grow.
APIs, data models, and the logic behind the screen.
Native Android and cross-platform experiments.
Turning messy datasets into something readable.
The everyday kit for building, testing, and shipping.
03 Selected work
A few projects where what I was learning became something real — with users, roles, data, and all the small decisions that don't fit in a tutorial.
A complete restaurant ordering system: customers browse the menu, save favourites, build a cart, pay through Khalti, and follow their order in real time. Admins get a separate dashboard for menu items, orders, users, and sales insights.
A single-page portfolio designed and built from scratch — no framework, no build step. It pairs a custom design system with scroll-aware navigation, a keyboard-accessible mobile menu, reveal animations, and a copy-email interaction, with reduced-motion support throughout.
View codeA native Android client built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. It includes splash and auth flows, a live menu, cart, favourites, order history, profile settings, and an admin screen for adding products — structured with MVVM and a repository layer.
View projectSmaller builds from coursework and self-study: Python assignments covering functions, loops, and file handling, plus my first Flutter app. These are where I try new tools and ideas before they make it into a bigger project.
04 Right now
A snapshot of what has my attention this semester — the things I'm learning, making, and looking for next.
Learning
After building with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, I'm working through Flutter to understand a second approach to cross-platform UI, state, and app structure.
Building
Strengthening the backend with better tests, tightening role-based access, and polishing the admin dashboard and Android experience.
Looking for
Frontend, backend, or full-stack. I'm ready to contribute, ask good questions, and learn from a team that ships real products.
